It was over already the interesting time with my lovely teacher Usa Noytim. I still wanted to continue learning with her in next course. I had to say thank you for the time that we were together I would say I was very happy every time I attended this class. I gained many things from this course; reading strategy, being on time, speaking practice etc. I am looking forward to studying with her again and I wish her good health, long life, money and be love for students.

Today was the
last day of learning critical reading course. I learned about facebook which I
know very well because I use it every day to communicate to my friends. And
today I submitted all present works and backlogs. I also did the exercise at the
end of the lesson;
1. How many users does facebook have? - There are
400 million users.
2. With what websites has Facebook recently begun
sharing users’ personal profile information? - Facebook has begun sharing
user's personal profile information with Pandora and Yelp.
3. What other changes has Facebook recently made to
the website? - Facebook made it so that they could sell information about a
user even if that information was thought to be private by the user. Facebook
has also begun to be included on other websites.
4. Even if you block information shared from your
site, how could your personal information still be made public? - The
information could still be shared from a friend's account.
5. Do you think Facebook should automatically share
your info, and only refrain from doing so if you know about it and go into your
settings to opt out? Explain your answer - Facebook should not
automatically share information because many people do not know that Facebook
will share their information and the user should know that information will be
shared before it is shared to keep the privacy of the user. Facebook can still
make money by displaying targeted advertisements on its own website without
having to share the information with other companies or people.
6. This article states “Facebook wants to make money
by selling user information.” Do you think that is their motive for
sharing your info, or is it as Facebook stated, to assist users by
"promot[ing] social activity" by sharing your info? Explain your
answer - Facebook's motivation for sharing information is based on making
money. Facebook can sell the personal information of its users to companies
which will use it for marketing. All for-profit companies exist only to make
money. In addition, if Facebook does intend to “promote social activity”, then
they will also make money by enhancing the features of their service and
attracting new users.
I felt regret that this course would end but I hope
next term I will enjoy with Dr. Usa again in any course due to my fate. I had
no problem at all and I was excited too.

Last Thursday, I studied with Dr. Usa Noytim
in Critical Reading course. I learned how to read editorials: it was
about Micheal about Obama Care insurance. I think this topic was very
difficult because I had to realize the vocabulary and the policy of Obama which
I never knew before but I understood that this insurance doesn't cover all
benefits and the Americans are not pleased with this insurance. After that I
learned the light rail cars collide in San Francisco, which was also difficult,
44 got hurt. I had a little problem that some word was hard to understand but I
tried to repeat reading twice. I like learning the topic about either in
America or Australia. I was happy very much.

First, the teacher asked the students to write mind mapping about advertisement and then we discussed about the it. I did some exercise and then the teacher gave me the correct answers. I think advertisement lesson was not very difficult because I could understand it but I had some unknown words. I had no problem and this class yesterday was excellent. I wish every class was like this. We had to finish earlier because the teacher had a meeting.

Today, I reviewed the old topic The First grader. This time made me understand crystal clear. I would summarize that there was an old man named Maruge. He really wanted to study in the primary school in Africa but he didn't have the qualifications as same as the school's requirements. He needed to find money and school uniform to present school. Maruge wanted to be able to read and write. He finished primary school he was an assistant of teacher Jane. He didn't study when he was young because of the British colony. He fought for independence and he taught in school but the students' parents didn't accept him because he was old. He came to New York to gave a speech to United Nations. He spoke about the importance of education and asked for help to educate the people of Kenya. This is the summary of The First Grader. Then I did the work in hand out about The First Grader. Dr. Usa gave me assignments and I discussed the immigration before I finished class today. I was happy even class held long time up to 4 hours. I had no problems.

Today, I had a critical reading class with Aj. Usa Noitim. I learnt about the immigration and literacy in the world. It was a beautiful day because the lesson was not too difficult. I got new hand out and I did the assignments about immigration. The teacher asked us to watch the movie before the time was over and the title was The First Grader. It was a great movie about the old man wanted to study. Before watching, Aj Usa gave us the idiom "You're never too old to study" because it was accorded to the movie. I had no problem in this lesson. I was happy to see each other.

Today I had a critical reading class with Dr. Usa Noytim. It was my first day of this semester. I was excited to see her again. We didn't have a new lesson but she reviewed some knowledge that we have learnt before. I found that she is still very neat as two years ago but I love the way she is because if I am a good teacher I need to be under her criterion. Finally, I was happy that she selected teaching my class.
